It’s almost summer and that means Summer Camps. There are plenty of exciting and educational opportunities for children and students to participate in visual art, theater, nature and historical activities. The Athens Theatre has announced its 2015-16 Broadway and Encore seasons starting with Footloose, the Musical, July 24-August 16. Tickets and information are available at athensdeland.com.

During the month of May, Museum of Art-DeLand visitors can enjoy hundreds of new works of art in Four Diverse Exhibitions. (Rediscovering Byron Browne; Peter Reginato: Eccentric Constructions; About Face: Portraits from the Permanent Collection; and Ben Schonzeit: Brilliant Realism), by taking advantage of the Museum's 1-2-3 Promo: One admission ($5) Two museums (100 N. & 600 N. Woodland Blvd.) for Three days. May 17-24, the Museum will host Postcards from Starke in its first floor space at 100 N. Woodland Avenue.

Enjoy live music venues all around town: Check out Funky Trunk Fridays at 8:30pm; the Elusive Grape, Fridays, Magda Hiller and Saturdays, Tanner Johnson; Da Vinci Café, Tuesday Jazz Nights at 7:30 and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday.
