Event Description

Hailing from Syracuse, New York, Charles (Chuck) Hinman (1932 – ) is an abstractionist committed to content who pioneered the concept of the three-dimensional shaped canvas in the mid-1960s. His work takes viewers on an imaginary journey of movement and rhythm that is unobstructed and free, yet clear and intentional. In Hinman’s new painted sculptures, the edges of the sculpture interact, embracing space as a result of this conception and fabrication that forms the works.
